Welcome to Pure Stock Aussies
Christmas at Pure Stock!!

Everyone was very excited to get their stockings!!

I received my first Australian Shepherd in 1988, but didn't breed my first litter until 2005 (not the same Aussie). The years between were spent on researching the breed. What genetic health problems they carried, such as
OFA (
Hip Dysplasia),
CERF (
eyes),
Pelger Huet, and the
Dilution Gene to name a few and what lines were the strongest and most reliable. All of these
health concerns have
tests, and I have tried to list them all with explanations, and requirements for
testing, to include costs for testing and where to send the samples.
My first litter was a Mistretta cross, my little girl Quest had
Mistretta lines in her pedigree a few generations back so I wanted to
bring them to the forefront since
Mistretta lines are very hard working, dependable and correct. Thank you Tina and Victoria Mistretta for letting me breed to Buddy.
We currently have 6 amazing Australian Shepherds, which you can see here running through the snow or jumping in their first agility lessons. I try to change the pictures on the home page every couple months and the header changes every week so check back often.
Here's a little more about our babies, our boys are
Twitcher (blue merle top right) and
Preacher (blue merle bottom right), the girls are,
Rainy (blue merle top left),
Shade (black tri middle right)

,
Emma (black tri middle left), and
Ricochet (black tri bottom left) all of
our dogs are
ASCA and
AKC registered.
These wonderful Aussies live with us in Western Nebraska, in a small town called Chadron, we moved Sept 09 from Northern California. I occasionally have adults available and puppies for sale, see the "
Puppies" section to find out more about my placement policy, guarantees, contracts, and what I might have available.
Our dogs love to run, play, and to just be plain old goofy at times...if you want to see some of our dogs in action view our
Panoramas page or visit each dogs page for more individual pictures of them.

I have tried to fill this website with all kinds of Australian Shepherd information,
puppy rearing, training tips and health information.
Because Quest died of cancer I started researching her pedigree to f

ind out why, and what I found was not in her pedigree but in her food. The information I found through my research about dog foods I have put on a website called
Flint River Feed this website is dedicated to information about canine foods and nutrition.
You will find information focused on evaluating dog foods, ingredients and harmful preservatives like BHA and BHT (connected to causing liver and kidney failure in dogs) and Ethoxyquin (connected with causing cancer in dogs).
Some of the more specific information that you can find there are recalls, alphabetical lists of ingredients and what they provide to your dog, who makes what foods. Such as Nestle making Purina, Alpo, and Beneful to name a few. Who uses peanut hulls in their food as a filler and much more interesting information.
Future Lit
ter Plans, Summer 2012. This will be a cross
between
Rainy and a line-bred Mistretta male. Tina and I have not
selected the male yet, but we are working on it and hope to make a
selection soon.
