Welcome to Pure Stock Aussies

I received my first Australian Shepherd in 1988, but didn't breed my first litter until 2005 (not the same aussie). The years between were spent on researching the breed.  What genetic health problems they carried, such as OFA (Hip Dysplasia), and CERF (eyes), Pelger Huet, and the Dilution Gene to name a few and what lines were the strongest and most reliable.  All of these health concerns have tests, and I have tried to list them all with explanations, and requirements for testing, to include costs for testing and where to send the samples. I occasionally have dogs and puppies for sale, see the "Puppies" section to find out more about my placement policy, guarantees, contracts, and what I might have available.

We currently have 5 amazing Australian Shepherds. The boys are Twitcher (blue merle right and bottom right), and Luke the girls are, Sadie, Rainy (blue merle left) and Shade, all of our dogs are ASCA and AKC registered. These wonderful Aussies live with us in Northern California on five acres, in a small town called Gerber. We lost our little girl Starr (red tri right, bottom right and bottom left) on 14 June 2009 to an internal injury.

Our dogs love to run, play, and to just be plain old goofy at times...if you want to see some of our dogs in action view our Panoramas page or visit each dogs page for more individual pictures of them.

I have tried to fill this website with all kinds of Australian Shepherd information, puppy rearing, training tips and health information.  The Flint River Feed website is packed full of all the information I have collected over the years about food and nutritional needs for your Aussie and other canines.

My first litter was a Mistretta cross, my little girl Quest had Mistretta lines in her pedigree a few generations back so I wanted to bring them to the forefront since Mistretta lines are very hard working, dependable and correct.  Thank you Tina and Victoria Mistretta for letting me breed to Buddy.
